Since graduating in 2014, Kaylee has pursued her dream of becoming a CG animator. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation from QUT in 2017 and later completed studies with Animation Mentor in 2019, an online school taught by industry professionals. Kaylee recommends accredited online programs like Animation Mentor, iAnimate, AnimSchool, or Kyosil over traditional university studies, citing a stronger focus on practical industry knowledge.

Kaylee's passion for animation began in childhood, as she enjoyed anime, cartoons, and comics. She credits the show Avatar: The Last Airbender as a huge inspiration for her to pursue this career path. A pivotal moment in her career, was when she moved to Sydney to join the Industrial Light and Magic Jedi Academy program. It was a fun experience, and it kick-started her full immersion into the industry. It also was where she became a junior animator!

Kaylee is currently working as a CG animator in Sydney. She works with the industry’s best, producing animation for movies and TV shows. Her most notable projects include Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and her work on the I am Groot Disney+ series.

Kaylee's advice for aspiring animators "Be patient, persistent, and pursue what makes you happy. Be sure to take care of your mental health. Be passionate, but don’t burn yourself out. Try not to overthink; your hard work will pay off, and allow time to unwind and have a life outside of work; you need a work/life balance."

We wish Kaylee all the best for the future and cannot wait to see what other cool projects she will work on!
