Alumni Spotlight - Kristopher Anderson

In this instalment of Alumni Spotlight, we're proud to feature 2012 graduate, Kristopher Anderson.

Kristopher joined Sheldon College in Year 8 after relocating to Brisbane in 2008. During his time at Sheldon, he embraced a variety of his personal interests; participating in debating, business co-curriculars, and numerous College events. A standout moment for Kristopher was travelling to the United States to compete in-and win-the International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC).

Reflecting on his time at Sheldon, Kristopher fondly recalls the impact of Prue and Simon Vaughan, who led the Business Faculty in 2011 and 2012. He credits their dedication and inspiring teaching style with shaping his career and many of the steps he’s taken along the way.

After graduating from Sheldon College, Kristopher briefly pursued a double degree in Corporate Systems Management and Justice but soon realised it wasn’t the right fit. Reassessing his goals, he pivoted to a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Journalism, which he completed in 2019.

While studying, Kristopher says he gained invaluable experience, including a placement with The Courier-Mail in the Bowen Hills newsroom and media access to the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. As one of six QUT journalism students selected, he had behind-the-scenes access to athletes, venues, and organisers-a standout highlight from his university years.

During his law studies, Kristopher undertook a pivotal placement with the Queensland Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), which confirmed his passion for public service law. This led to his first paid legal role and later participation in the International Relations Career Challenge (IRCC) at King’s College London.

Initially uncertain about his path, Kristopher eventually discovered his calling in criminal, human rights, and international law. He is now pursuing his passion for people-focused legal work as part of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) in Sydney.

We thank Kristopher for sharing his journey and wish him every success in the future!
